What is water polo?

Water polo is a fast-paced water sport in which rolling subs and six field players support one goalie. The aim of the game is to score more goals than the other team, which is done by swimming, treading water, and passing the ball one-handed between players.

Half-year membership is offered at £45 and covers either September-December or January-June. Annual placement membership costs £45, for members who intend to train but will miss at least half of the training sessions. Both memberships allow members to train, compete, and attend all socials or events.

History

Our first reference of SUWPC is a fixture against Taunton School in 1936, with a draw of 4-4. We recently received a photograph of the club in 1933. The club began to thrive in the mid 1970’s.
