5 Hours for Nightline

On Saturday 25th March 2023, SUWPC will be playing a 5 hour water polo match, for the 1 in 5 students diagnosed with a mental health problem. The event will be live streamed with commentary and interviews – you can watch it on our youtube channel here.

Donations will be split 50/50 between Nightline Assocation – an volunteer, student-run mental health helpline for students, and SUWPC. All donators are encouraged to leave a comment suggesting a fun challenge for us to do on the day. You can donate here – thank you!

Run For Ukraine

In April 2022, SUWPC organised a club fundraiser with 50% of proceeds going to the Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Collectively, the club ran, walked, cycled and swam an impressive 2049.43km – the distance from Southampton to Ukraine. They raised £560.

RunBudaRun

In 2020, SUWPC cancelled their Easter tour to Budapest due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, the club collectively ran, cycled, walked, or swam 3599km in one month – the distance to Budapest and back again. They raised £765 for Solent Mind in consideration of the impact of the pandemic on mental health.

Uni Boob Team

SUWPC has also been involved with the Uni Boob Team, supporting and partaking in some of their fundraisers in order to raise money for Coppafeel. Recently, the club engaged with the Think Pink Training Challenge for breast cancer awareness month.

Kilometers 4 Cancer

In 2023, SUWPC joined Kilometers 4 Cancer in their annual fundraiser. The aim is to cover as much distance as possible over two days, whilst raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. We were thrilled to be one of the top contributors to this event. In total, Kilometers 4 Cancer covered 754kms and raised £673.
